Having a stoma temporarily or permanently is a big change in a person’s life. For some people, it might take a lot of time and adjustment to accept life with a stoma. Others adjust more quickly. There is no right or wrong way to live life with a stoma.
In the book and the film Life with a Stoma five people with a stoma share their personal stories about their life with a stoma. They have chosen to be open and honest in the hope that their stories will offer help and encouragement. We hope that their advice can be an inspiration to others in a similar situation.
